Accolade is banking on its Test Drive racing games franchise. So much so that it's sinking US$3 million into advertising on TV the latest versions of those titles - Test Drive 5 and Test Drive Off-Road 2 - currently available for the PlayStation console and set to be released in their PC versions in November.
"Last year the Test Drive franchise was the market leader in the racing category," said Stan Roach, executive vice president of sales and marketing at Accolade. "With the benefit of the two-week back-to-back television advertising behind each of this year's versions, we're confident Test Drive 5 and Test Drive Off-Road 2 will be even more successful."
The television campaign begins on Nov. 1, with advertising for Test Drive 5 during the FOX NFL broadcast of the San Francisco 49ers/Green Bay Packers football game.
The Test Drive Off-Road 2 advertising campaign kicks off on Nov. 16, during the FOX NFL Minnesota Vikings/Dallas Cowboys football game broadcast.
Ads will also run on TNN during the Monster Truck Challenge VI on November 20, on MTV, Comedy Central, and on ESPN and ESPN 2.
