Sega has announced the first game that will be released under its existing partnership with Motorola and Sun Microsystems. The game, titled Borkov, will be preinstalled in upcoming Motorola multiple-communication cell phones. Borkov is a puzzle game that lets players reorder blocks in a matrix in order to match changing patterns. Additional Sega-developed games will be available for download on the new Motorola phones, which feature a display that has a higher resolution than traditional cell-phone displays.
"We are pleased to be working with Motorola, the leader in software-upgradeable wireless phones," said Hideki Sato, representative director and vice president of Sega. "Users will now be able to play Borkov and download other Sega games from the Internet to their Motorola multiservice phones."
The new Motorola phones and Sega games will be available in Q1 2001 in Japan and in 2002 in both North America and Europe.
