Today, Starcraft fans cheered in unison as ShoutCraft announced their latest offering in the shape of a 1-year long team league featuring some of the best teams in the world competing for glory and a monthly $5000 prize pool. The series will be played Proleague style, which means that teams will field four players for each encounter, unless an ace match is required, adding on to this, the format will also be easily customizable and will be able to become a Bo5 series if not enough players are fielded on a specific day.
Along with all of this, the tournament's map pool will be containing a wide variety of unofficial tournament maps to spice up the series. Individual games will also be played on the custom maps 'Starbow' and 'SC2: Brood War', the two most popular custom maps in terms of introducing units, and concepts from SC2's predecessor Brood War.
Finally, the broadcasting of the event will be handled exclusively by MLG.tv, the new streaming platform engineered by Major League Gaming. This tops off the massive announcement from ShoutCraft, and what should prove to be one of the most entertaining leagues in a long time within the SC2 community.
