Sandbox Studios announced Friday that its Sandbox Studios Partners Program, which has offered to produce and help publish games based on game design documents and conceptual art, has received more than a thousand inquiries and submissions by prospective game developers since the program's inception.
Once Sandbox accepts the design document and art, Sandbox creates a game by using its proprietary graphics and interface engine. Sandbox also creates the game's sound effects and music, tests the game, and finds a publisher. Artists will receive 20 percent of the royalties garnered by the product.
"We've received over 1000 e-mail inquiries from around the world and several promising submissions for the program in the last month," said Steve Bergenholtz, president and founder of Sandbox. "The response has been amazing. We'll be announcing several new titles from the program soon."
