Fans of Valve's 2007 black-humor first-person puzzler Portal will be happy to learn that some people are still carrying a torch for the game, four years onward.
Craig J. Clark has made a music video for Jonathan Coulton's "Still Alive", the all-too-memorable end-credits song, which was written by Coulton and performed by Ellen McLain, the voice of GLaDOS in the game.
But instead of stringing together a montage of memorable Portal moments, Clark cleverly set the song to a sequence of scenes from old horror movies that are now in the public domain. Highlights include The Brain That Wouldn't Die (1962) and The House on Haunted Hill (1959). Here's Clark on his YouTube page:
"This music video is my own reimagining of the song "Still Alive" by Jonathan Coulton, using public-domain films found on Archive.org. I wanted to avoid making any overt references to the game Portal or to re-create the video game for this music video (since there are already plenty of those videos to be found online, anyway)."
