Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson has announced on Twitter that the original PC version of the open-ended sandbox game has reached 100 million registered users.
But how many people have actually paid for a copy of the game on PC? With a 14.3 percent conversion rate to paid accounts, that's more than 14.3 million copies sold on PC alone.
Of course, Minecraft is also available on platforms outside of the PC. The Xbox 360 version of the game has sold over 10 million copies, while the PlayStation 3 version sold more than 1 million units during its launch month of December 2013.
Minecraft: Pocket Edition, for iOS and Android, has also been a hit, having sold more than 10 million copies as of May 2013. Versions of the game are also in development for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita, but there's no word yet on a potential Wii U or 3DS version.
