Monday was to be a big day for gamers as Activision was scheduled to release a demo of the sequel to Heavy Gear on the Web. At the last minute, Activision's development team held the title back for some finishing touches.

　　Activision's last demo release, Heretic II, released with errors but still seems to have been successful. It appears that Activision wants to keep its public image stellar by making sure that the demo is relatively bug free. Activision now says that the demo will be released this Thursday, November 5.

　　Here's what Activision posted on its official Heavy Gear II web site yesterday:

　　"Demo status update: the Heavy Gear II team are currently putting the final polish on the demo... there are still a few finishing touches we'd like to improve before it releases, and so we'll be holding onto it a little while longer. Our apologies for the delay to those who have waited, and thanks to everyone for being patient - we think you'll ultimately be glad we held onto it, because the end result will be that much better. The demo has been getting some of the best scores from beta testers we've seen here at Activision - we think the end result deserves to be as good as we can make it!
