SegaSoft is licensing Open Market's Transact technology for use within its gaming network, Heat. The commerce software will allow SegaSoft to secure Heat's commerce operations, offer multiple payment options, process credit card information securely, and provide online account statements for players.
To date, 25,000 players have signed up to test SegaSoft's network, which currently offers a free membership. Open Market is a Cambridge-based software company.
