Though there's not yet an official holiday for gamers, unofficially there's little question it's April Fool's Day. Whether it's due to the relative youth or inherent playfulness of the demographic, each April 1 sees a wave of pranks in the games press, from Game Informer magazine's long-running Game Infarcer series to less organized tomfoolery on various blogs and forums.
After taking a break last year, 2008 sees GameSpot resume its grand April Fool's Day tradition with a double-shot of hijinks. We've posted fake newshub and home page splash pages for visitors to the site featuring various mock headlines and faux previews. All stories are intended as satire and humor, and are not intended as sources of serious news or information. (They also do not represent the official views of GameSpot or its parent company CNET Networks.) However, the gestalt of the aforementioned antics are a product of the unofficial skewed sense of humor of many members of the GameSpot editorial staff. Enjoy.
