Nikkei Shinbun reports that Microsoft and Softbank (one of the biggest software distributors and publishers in Japan - and parent company of Ziff-Davis) will dissolve its joint venture video game publisher Game Bank.
Game Bank was established by Softbank and Microsoft (Softbank retained a 60 percent share) in 1995 to publish PC and console titles in Japan.
Reportedly, Game Bank consistently underperformed. According to Nikkei, Game Bank has revenues of about two billion yen but has posted a net loss of 700 million.
Softbank will buy Microsoft's share for about 180 million yen and will restructure and downscale the company.
