After a successful crowdfunding campaign, Elite Dangerous arrived for PC in December 2014. The Mac and Xbox One editions launched in 2015, while Frontier points out that it's supplied regular updates to all versions of the game since their respective launches.

"We have an amazing player community," Frontier CEO David Braben said in a statement. "The average play time among our 1.4 million players is 60 hours--that's a massive 84 million player hours and counting."

"With the community's feedback, we're constantly making Elite Dangerous better than ever," he added. "We have incredible long-term ambition and we will continue to deliver on those ambitions. We will detail more exciting developments for [expansion season] Horizons very soon."

In addition to ongoing support for Elite Dangerous and Horizons, Frontier is working on a new rollercoaster game called Planet Coaster.
