TOKYO--Sony Computer Entertainment today announced that it has recruited Level-5 to develop a new role-playing game for the PSP. The developer is widely known for the creation of such RPGs as the Dark Cloud series (published by SCE), Dragon Quest VIII (to be published by Square Enix), and the cancelled Xbox massively multiplayer online RPG True Fantasy Live Online.
While no details on the game have been announced, it is known that the title will be an original game that takes advantage of the handheld's capabilities and portability. "We have decided to commission Level-5 to produce an original RPG for the PSP, as the studio is renowned in the RPG field," reads SCE's public statement.
