As the Dota 2 scene across the world continues to expand a new Australian based site Dota2.com.au launched earlier today which is a new organization founded by PantheonES, a company who "represent a strong pedigree with over 10 years of experience dedicated to providing Australian teams and players competitions, tournaments and branding from all different franchises".

Along with the unveiling of their new site the organisation also announced their first Dota 2 tournament dubbed "The Inaugural" which will feature the top six teams from Australia fighting for a $1,000 prize pool.

The tournament which is due to be held on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th of January will start off the first day with a Round Robin setup which will advance into a best of three series stage on the second day finally finishing off with a best of five grand final and will be casted by Cameron 'Basskip' Scott and Theeban '1437' Siva.

onGamers caught up with the project manager Jake Carrington to gather his reaction on their launch and their plans for the future:

  Excited? I'm currently doing backflips.

It has been a great experience dealing with Australian Dota players and we're looking forward to sharing this experience with other teams around the world.

As part of our opening ceremony we thought it would be nice to open with a short two day competition to provide a snippet of our future intentions. The final goal would be to integrate the Australian Dota 2 community in to the rest of the world, by building a rock solid affiliation with our teams and to market their potential. Our greatest achievement will be providing Australia with prestigious tournaments and a harmonized relationship.

Over the next couple of months we will be providing rolling releases with future events and of course the anticipated 'Main Event'.
