VR-1 announced Tuesday that it is expanding its realm of influence in Europe by developing two partnerships. The first is with Deutsche Telekom AG, reportedly the third-largest telecommunications company in the world and Germany's premier ISP with 7 million subscribers. VR-1 also signed a similar deal with France Telecom.
Deutsche Telekom AG will use VR-1's Conductor technology to distribute two of VR-1's premium multiplayer games, The S.A.R.A.C. Project and Rumble in the Void. The German company will also join VR-1's Global Game Alliance to support the creation of online games using Conductor as a standardized communication platform.
"Deutsche Telekom is undeniably one of the world's premier technology companies, so an endorsement from them carries a lot of weight," said Mike Moniz, president of VR-1. "Our multitiered partnership, including an investment, a technology collaboration, and a distribution agreement, is the strongest alliance we have established to date, and now more than ever VR-1 is committed to accelerating the growth of the online gaming market in Europe."
"Deutsche Telekom strongly supports VR-1's mission to create a standard technology platform for delivering online content," said Eckhard Schomber, head of the main department in interactive media systems at Deutsche Telekom. "Integrating the VR-1 Conductor technology into our network will enable us to quickly and easily add new games from VR-1 or other developers that use this powerful technology."
