This year, the Tokyo Game Show will take place September 26-28, from 10am to 5pm each day, at Tokyo's Makuhari Messe convention center. The show will be open to the public on the 27th and 28th, but on the 26th it will be open only to the press. Currently, 94 exhibitors are signed up for booths in this year's Tokyo Game Show, which is already nine more exhibitors than last year's show had.
The Tokyo Game Show has traditionally focused more on the general consumer visitors than on the industry-related audience, which has set it apart from E3. While its focus still seems to be the same, changes have been taking place to get more attention from the industry visitors, especially since Nikkei BizTech became a cohost of the show. This year, the press day will be lengthened to a full day, seminars dedicated to the industry visitors will be hosted by the show, and Nintendo's president, Satoru Iwata, will be invited to make a speech about the past 20 years of Famicom and the future of the game industry. As another change, a noticeable number of peripheral and middleware companies, such as Nvidia and CRI Middleware, will be present at this year's show. The list of companies presently scheduled to appear at the Tokyo Game Show is as follows:
