Neverwinter is also available on PC, though it's unclear how many people are playing on that platform.
Perfect World's announcement today also included a statement from Xbox boss Phil Spencer, who said, "We're thrilled gamers have embraced this unique free-to-play MMORPG on Xbox One."
As for the five free expansions, Perfect World isn't saying much about them yet, confirming only that they will be based on the Tyranny of Dragons and Elemental Evil storylines from within the overall Dungeons & Dragons lore. All five will debut later this year, though specific release dates have not been announced.
Neverwinter requires an Xbox Live Gold subscription.
It won't be the only MMO on Xbox One for much longer, as Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls Online will be released for Microsoft's new console, as well as PlayStation 4, next month.
