Valve has released a new watch menu for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, where players can access their competitive match history and connect to live, in-progress matches played by professional Counter-Strike players.

　　Players will have the ability to download and watch any of their recent matches, review the scoreboards of previous matches, and use the GOTV Theater to watch a continuous stream of live matches.

　　"I think it's fantastic any time a developer adds features that facilitate the ability for the average player to become interested in eSports," says Complexity owner Jason Lake, who houses a top CS:GO team and built the organization based off Counter-Strike 1.6. "Valve seems genuinely interested in the eSports aspect of CS:GO and that's a breath of fresh air for many of us who missed that support in years past. I applaud their efforts and hope to see more of the same in the future."

　　Valve's newest Global Offensive update continues the Operation: Bravo efforts that started on September 20, which featured a collection of eight new maps and fifteen new weapon skins. The watch menu has been available in Valve's Dota 2, a staple for this year's International tournament.

　　"It is not only a great source of entertainment, it is also a very useful tool for newer players to help them learn new concepts and watch professional players directly from in game," says Matthew "Cyborgmatt" Bailey. "It also marks another important step forward in the success of CS: GO with a high potential of this leading on to bigger things such as the tournament system currently seen in Dota 2, which allows users to purchase tickets to support organizers and to gain access to watch tournaments in-game from any perspective they like."
