Wallace & Gromit return to consoles-May 2024
May 19, 2025 5:04 PM

The mild-mannered animated duo of Wallace & Gromit return to theaters nationwide October 7 in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, but eager fans can pick up Konami's game, based on the movie, for PlayStation 2 and Xbox starting tomorrow.

Konami made a point of having the game follow the movie closely, and even got Wallace & Gromit creator Nick Park to give some creative input on the project. As in the movie, Wallace & Gromit start up the Anti-Pesto company and offer their clients a humane pest control service. They are enlisted as a security precaution at the Giant Vegetable Competition, but soon find themselves guarding the veggies from a horde of hungry rabbits. Along the way they'll have help from their friend Hutch and Wallace's numerous nutty inventions.

The game is laid out like a traditional platformer, with Wallace, Gromit, and Hutch all playable solo or in a two-player cooperative mode. Players earn anti-pesto cards to unlock new content by completing character-specific tasks, and they can also hang out at the fairgrounds, where they can play minigames and ride the attractions.

Developed by UK-based Frontier Development (makers of the Roller Coaster Tycoon series), Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit is rated E for Everyone and retails for $39.99.
