This has been yet another interesting week, and lots of news is expected to break within the next few weeks, including more details on the PlayStation 2, Dreamcast games, and the Tokyo Game Show. It's an exciting time to be reporting the news! So without further ado, let's break into the vault and check out the stories making headlines this week:

Dreamcast news got a major bump this week when Sega released screenshots of its NFL Football game to the press. Once NDA'd, we're now finally able to throw open the doors and show you what it looks like. The game is being developed by Visual Concepts and looks great - all the way down to individual people standing/sitting on the sidelines and realistic physics for the players' moves.

The release of the first screens of the Dreamcast football game weren't the only Dreamcast-related stories making news this week. Climax Graphics released a movie and a bunch more screens for its upcoming Blue Stinger. Capcom released Powerstone, its first Dreamcast game. If that weren't enough, Babbage's is now listing the Dreamcast (with modem) for a price of US$199.99 in its sales database.

Shigeru Miyamoto is known worldwide as the man behind many of Nintendo's greatest successes: Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong. And he's been hard at work thinking of the future; as CD-ROM and Internet gaming become a reality on consoles, he remains skeptical about their uses.

GameSpot News has learned that Capcom is planning a new Resident Evil game for the N64, tentatively titled Resident Evil Zero. The game will take place before the events of the original Resident Evil.

Duke on the PlayStation 2? Rockstar Games and the Gathering of Developers have signed a deal that will bring the trash-talkin' alien blaster to consoles. According to our sources, a PS2 version could become a reality as the PlayStation 2 is expected to be released as early as 2000.

Our continuing coverage of the AOU Show in Japan ended Monday, with a bunch of details and artwork on new arcade games from SNK, Taito, Tecmo, Namco, Jaleco, Konami, and others.

That's it for this week! Have a good weekend!
