Logitech announced its WingMan Gaming Mouse, designed for gamers and available at retail later this spring. The mouse will ship with a full version of Monolith's Shogo: Mobile Armor Division. The WingMan mouse is a three-button controller with a report rate (the speed at which the mouse reports its position and button status to the host computer) of 120 times per second. Logitech's MouseWare software (to be included with the WingMan) can boost that rate to 200 times per second, Logitech says.
The mouse's sensitivity level and acceleration are both adjustable.
Physically, the WingMan mouse features a thumb indentation and a heavier-than-normal mouseball. The mouse sports a USB interface, and it is compatible with USB-equipped Macs, including the Apple iMac and G3, as well as with PCs.
