DreamWorks and Universal Studios are gearing up for the release of the live-action/computer-animated film Toy Soldiers. And the promotional tie-ins are just beginning.
DreamWorks Consumer Products announced today a list of more than 60 licenses and promotional agreements involving the film, which chronicles the battle between a band of "monstrous-looking creatures" called the Gorgonites and a "platoon of war-loving commandos, prototypes of the most advanced action figures ever imagined."
Hasbro alone is planning on releasing more than 60 products that tie into the film. Burger King, Coca-Cola, Microsoft, and Travelodge... even NASCAR are getting into the Toy Soldier act. Products associated with the film are set to include T-shirts, underwear, Halloween costumes, cake-decorating kits, electronic books, playing cards, temporary tattoos, action figures (but of course), gumball machines, ViewMaster slides, and the proverbial much, much more.
Those tie-ins are also set to include a Toy Soldiers Sony PlayStation title and a CD-ROM childrens action/strategy game for Windows 95 from DreamWorks Interactive.
