Valve has expanded its Steam digital storefront to include non-gaming software, launching the first wave of titles today.
Steam has launched a series of non-gaming software tools.
The range of creativity and productivity software tools that currently available for download through Steam include:
ArtRage Studio Pro
CameraBag 2
GameMaker: Studio
3D-Coat
3DMark Vantage
3DMark 11
Valve has said that many of these launch titles will take advantage of Steamworks features, including automatic updating, and the ability for users to save their work to their personal Steam Cloud space. GameMaker: Studio also features integration with Steam Workshop, which allows users to share their work via Steam.
To celebrate the launch of its non-gaming software on Steam, Valve will be making all launch titles in the range available for 10 percent off their regular price throughout the week.
Steam currently boasts more than 40 million users, and the service also recently added a free filmmaker tool.
