The company that spawned the franchises Sonic and Virtua Fighter was recently declared June's top-earning publisher, accounting for 20.9 percent of publisher revenue.

　　Each copy of the action-adventure zombie-killing title cost Japan gamers $97. According to the reports on Famitsu.com, the primary reason was that the latest in the Ryu Ga Gotoku/Yakuza series, the zombie-themed Ryu Ga Gotoku: Of the End, sold 376,000 units and cost 7,680 yen per copy ($97).

　　Other top earners on the list include Nintendo, which was at second place with 14.8 percent. 3DS, DS, and Wii titles are generally priced lower than games on other platforms in Japan, with the 3DS version of Ocarina of Time costing 4,800 yen ($61).
