THQ has announced that Red Faction 2, the sequel to Volition's first-person shooter, is currently in development for the PlayStation 2. While details on the game are sparse, Volition has stated that an enhanced geo-mod feature--which lets players destroy parts of the surrounding landscape with weapons--will be included in the game, along with enhanced graphics, better enemy AI, and an auto-save feature. Volition also announced plans to include a four-player split-screen option, bots, and new multiplayer modes.
