At the tail end of March, Sony Computer Entertainment and independent developer Insomniac Games announced Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time, a PlayStation 3-exclusive due this fall. As part of the announcement, Insomniac took the lid off its Captain Qwark's My Blaster Runs Hot Weapons contest, which will see a fan-designed weapon included in the game.
In a post to the PlayStation Blog on Friday, Sony has announced that submissions have been winnowed down to the top-five finalists. Those interested in the contest have can vote for their favorite through Insomniac's official Web site until April 24, at 12:00 p.m. PST.
The entrant that receives the most votes will be announced at the San Diego Comicon during the week of July 20. In addition to having his or her creation included in A Crack in Time, the winner will also receive a life-sized replica of their weapon.
