SouthPeak showed GameSpot a playable PC version of The Dukes of Hazzard: Racing for Home at a press event earlier this week. The game has already shipped for the PlayStation, and it is currently being ported over to the PC.
The Dukes of Hazzard puts you behind the wheel of one of the most recognizable cars that ever graced TV screens in the early 1980s: the General Lee, complete with an orange paint job and a Confederate flag gracing the roof - even its signature horn is intact. You play as either Bo or Luke Duke through 27 mission-based driving levels that take place throughout an extended episode of a Dukes of Hazzard TV show. After each mission, a prerendered movie sequence featuring digital versions of all the show's cast moves the story of the game along.
Racing for Home features seven cars from the show, including Boss Hog's convertible, Cooter's tow truck, Uncle Jesse's pickup truck, Rosco's police car, and the "Double Zero," the only car to have ever beaten the General Lee in a race. For nostalgic value, five of the show's original actors lent their voice talents to the game.
The Dukes of Hazzard: Race for Home will be available on the PC in time for this year's holiday festivities.
