Now Playing: Call of Duty: Vanguard - Official Story Trailer
Activision Mobile boss Chris Plummer added, "Digital Legends's tenure developing highly-polished mobile titles is unparalleled."
Excited to join @Activision and @CallofDuty. We agree, great things are coming for mobile players. Here we go!
— Digital Legends Entertainment (@Digital_Legends) October 28, 2021
Digital Legends have already been working together for "much of" 2021, Plummer added. "We are building a world-class mobile development roster of talent and teams, and we look forward to what's to come," Plummer said.
Digital Legends CEO Xavier Carrillo-Costa added, "We're very excited for the opportunity to work on one of the greatest franchises in the world."
The unannounced new Call of Duty game that Digital Legends is developing is being made alongside other Activision studios such as Solid State, Beenox, and Activision Shanghai.
Very little is known about the new Call of Duty game for mobile. Activision already has Call of Duty Mobile, which is a multiplayer and a battle royale game with more than 500 million downloads. The mobile is offering is one of the three core pillars of Activision's Call of Duty business, alongside Warzone and the yearly new premium games, like this year's Call of Duty: Vanguard.
In other news, Activision just announced new details on the Warzone Pacific map coming this year. Activision Blizzard is also facing lawsuit from the state of California over alleged harassment and discrimination against women.
