In the highly competitive 3D hardware market, price can make all the difference in the world. On Thursday, Matrox Graphics Inc. announced a special US$20 rebate on its NEC PowerVR-based accelerator, the m3D. The board currently sells for $99 in the US and Canada.
The offer, valid from February 15 until March 31, will be through mail-in rebate coupons that can be found at stores selling the add-in board.
Popular games such as Quake, Quake II, Hexen II, and Ultim@te Race Pro can run up to 1,024x768 at 30fps. Bundled games include a full version of Kalisto's Ultim@te Race Pro and Activision's Hexen II: Continent of Blackmarsh.
