The first All-Stars squad in our crosshairs is Team Fire. Comprised of mid laner Bjergsen, top laners QTV and Shy, AD Carry WeiXiao and captaining jungler Diamondprox, the team will be looking for a dominant win over counterparts Team Ice. Another legend, Toyz, will also join the quintet once they enter the Hexakill mode, a six man blazing squad that will offer every viewer out there an amazing display of skill and action.
Below we will detail the most interesting aspects around the line-up and what are we to expect from the fiery gang.
A surprising fact to many is the overwhelming percentage with which QTV won the SEA voting. The Saigon Jokers top laner recently brough bruiser Gragas to the spotlight and has been swiftly defeating the very best in his region with ease. At 26 years of age, he is one of the longest standing SAJ members, being a part of the line-up since April 2012. While many are unfamiliar with his play style and preferred champions, QTV is more than eager to show the world what he is capable of.
European stars Diamondprox and Bjergsen are next. After a fairly successful NA LCS Season, the assassin maestro seeks to entertain the viewers by leading Team Fire in combat. Armed with a deep champion pool the TSM mid laner will prove to be a tough nut to crack, especially when aided by non-other than the Russian jungler overlord. Speaking of the devil, Danil has had a shaky stint in the EU LCS Spring split. However, this is a perfect opportunity to remind everyone how good of a player he actually is.
Last, but not least, we have Shy and WeiXiao. Legends in their own right, those two had a relatively tough time in their respective leagues. With the chance All-Stars provides them, Shy and WeiXiao will definitely be looking to mirror their Season 2 performances and solidify their legendary status as the monstrous AD Carry and the impenetrable wall on top lane.
Locking horns with fan favourites DoubleLift and MadLife, the Chinese marksman has his work cut out for him, but eagerly awaits his time to shine.
Charged with the task of defeating Team Fire is Team Ice. Housing the godlike bot lane of MadLife and DoubleLift, Europe's best mid laner Froggen, Chinese star CiaoMei and Saigon Jokers' AD Carry Archie this line-up brings chills to the opposition. The combined skill of these five players is off the charts and if that was not enough, joining them for the Hexakill battle will be non-other than Twisted Fate master and former World Elite mid laner Misaya.
With such a constellation of star names, Team Ice should definitely be on the offensive in all four matches.
Team Ice will also fulfill one of the biggest fan dreams - seeing DoubleLift and MadLife play together. The American marksman is well respected in Korea for his raw skill and paired with a S-class play maker will definitely benefit him, not to mention the potential jaw-dropping plays. It is also worth mentioning that back in the day, Peter scored a pentakill in Korea with Graves and given the cowboy's recent resurgence, we should expect loads of action from the GodLift bot lane.
Finally, we have top laner CiaoMei and Saigon Jokers marksman Archie. The Chinese star, just as Blaze mid laner Ambition is notorious for giving up first blood, but quickly reestablishes control on top and continues to dominate. Facing QTV, CiaoMei should keep in mind the Vietnamese's prowess on Jax and his unpredictable ways. As for Archie, aside from the Season 2 World Finals, the AD Carry will have to show the world why he was chosen as a member of the All-Stars line-up which should not be a hard task given his teammates.
Toyz's Orianna is stuff of legends. The return of Misaya and Toyz: With both Asian players considered legends in their own right, their return is much anticipated especially by domestic audiences. The hexakill mode will provide them with the perfect playground for signature champions (Twisted Fate and Orianna) where they could lay waste and wreak havoc among the enemy. A great crowd-pleaser, this match-up is expected to be a great spectacle which should bring a tear of nostalgia to our eyes as we fondly remember Season 2.
The All-Stars show begins on May 8th with a Hexakill showdown between Team Fire and Team Ice and continues for four more days with different game modes. Stay tuned to onGamers.com for all the news, interviews and updates from Paris.
