Koei today surprised nobody and everybody with a pair of new game announcements. The expected game was an Xbox port of Dynasty Warriors 5, but it would be difficult to claim that anyone expected the company to announce Winback 2: Project Poseidon for the Xbox and PlayStation 2.
However, details about Winback 2 were virtually nonexistent, with Koei acknowledging only that development had started on the game and that the first trailer, "packed with Hong Kong-cinema-style gunplay," would be screened during E3.
Meanwhile, Dynasty Warriors 5 will have a handful of Xbox-exclusive features, including Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound and an option to play the game in Japanese with English subtitles.
Koei also confirmed a June 21 release date for Romance of the Three Kingdoms X on the PS2.
