"From a luxurious mansion to the medieval church situated by the beach and the cramped alleys littered with stores, Sapienza is a dense location full of challenges and packed with opportunities and stories for the enterprising player to unfold," Square Enix said. "And as with all locations within Hitman, dark secrets and engaging stories are everywhere to be found in charming Sapienza."
Hitman launches on March 11, 2016 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The game was originally slated to arrive in 2015, but was later delayed so IO Interactive could increase the amount of launch content.
Available at release will be Hitman's "initial launch content," which contains the Paris, Sapienza, and Marrakesh locations, together comprising six campaign missions. These will all be replayable through the user-created Contracts missions, which allow players to designate new targets for assassination.
IO plans to treat the new Hitman as a growing platform, with new content added regularly. For more on how that works, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
