Here's Some Doom Eternal Gameplay Running On Nvidia's New RTX 3080-July 2024
Jul 4, 2025 12:10 AM

Nvidia just unveiled its new line of next-gen video cards under the new Ampere architecture. The 370, 380, and 390 are the second generation of RTX cards, reportedly providing a massive performance boost over the current crop of RTX cards, especially when it comes to features like real-time ray tracing and 4K gaming.

We've got you covered with all of the details from Nvidia's comprehensive live stream, including information on pricing, pre-orders, technical specs, and performance compared to current-gen cards. If numbers and graphs aren't enough to convince you, however, Nvidia has also released a video of Doom Eternal running on an RTX 3080 at maximum settings in 4K.

The video is an impressive showcase for the 3080, which is set to launch on September 17 for $700 USD. Nvidia claims that the RTX 3080 generally performs twice as fast as the RTX 2080 and this video is certainly a good indication of that. Digital Foundry did a hands-on preview with the 3080, too, testing relative performance, and came away with around 70% to 90% performance increases depending on the game and situation.

We also learned during the Nvidia stream that Fortnite will add ray tracing and DLSS support on PC. The company also showcased Cyberpunk 2077's ray tracing effects and shared a Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War trailer to show off ray tracing.
