Head Games Publishing announced Wednesday that Extreme Rodeo, its value-cost bull-riding and bucking game, has been released and currently graces the shelves of roughly 10,000 retail outlets.
Extreme Rodeo lets players compete in six different types of rodeo events, like barrel racing, calf roping, and bareback riding, and it features play-by-play by Don Gay. The game is sanctioned by the International Professional Rodeo Association and the National Federation of Professional Bull Riders, among other organizations.
Eight players can compete in six different arenas with twenty different riders. Players can even relive their eight seconds of fame or near-horrific death at the hands (or horns) of a very angry bull with Extreme Rodeo's handy replay feature.
"For anyone who has ever dreamed of being a rodeo cowboy or cowgirl, Extreme Rodeo puts you in the saddle and lets you test your skill in six high-adrenaline events," said Dan Hammett, vice president of Head Games Studios, a subsidiary of Activision. "This is as close to the real thing as you'll get without taking the risk of breaking your bones."
Extreme Rodeo is available now for about US$25 in most retail stores.
