Hasbro Financials-May 2024
May 4, 2025 12:20 AM

Hasbro released its third-quarter financial results this week. Though sales to what Alan G. Hassenfeld, Hasbro CEO calls a "key customer" - Toys 'R Us - decreased, Hasbro still reported record third quarter revenues.

Hasbro reported net revenues for the quarter of US$945.5 million, which compares with $915.5 million reported for the same period last year. The company paid roughly $70 million for MicroProse, which it acquired back in September, and Hasbro took a $20 million pretax charge for research and development related to that acquisition. That charge figured into the company's bottom line for the period; net earnings for the quarter were down, with Hasbro reporting net earnings of $61.3 million for this quarter, compared with $77,400 for the same quarter a year ago.

For the first nine months of 1998, Hasbro reports revenues were US$2.0 billion, compared with US$2.1 billion in 1997. Net earnings were $74.6 million this quarter or 54 cents per share.

Hasbro also has pending the acquisition of Galoob Toys, which has the Micro Machine franchise as well as the license for Star Wars small-scale figures and vehicles.
