More than 5,700 online gamers told us a thing or two about their online experiences. The big news is that:
-Cheating, the hacking of online games, and the issue of player killing threaten the development of online gaming. Some 75 percent of respondents said these were serious problems and cited cheating as the number two reason to stop paying for an online gaming service. Boredom with the game was the top reason for quitting.
-Gamers who play online spend an average of one-third of their time online in gameplay.
-Blizzard's Battle.Net was the most-used service among survey respondents, and 29 percent cited the availability of a game for free as a reason they stopped paying to play games online.
-Two-thirds of survey respondents said they would definitely (23 percent) or probably (43 percent) watch professional computer gamers play competitively on television.
