Green Day is jumping on the Angry Birds bandwagon. Rovio today announced that it would be featuring the Grammy-winning punk-pop band in a new edition of the Facebook game Angry Birds Friends.
Green Day channels its inner anger in avian form. The Green Day episode of Angry Birds Friends will feature 10 levels loaded with nods to the band, from amplifiers and guitars to re-creations of the cover art from the band's album American Idiot. Rovio is even inserting band members Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tre Cool in the game as new porcine adversaries.
This isn't Green Day's first excursion into the world of games. In 2010, Harmonix released Green Day: Rock Band, which featured 47 of the Bay Area outfit's tracks, as well as a handful of downloadable songs.
