Football Manager 21 is performing very well commercially, it seems. Game director Miles Jacobson said on Twitter that on January 2, the game reached 1 million copies activated.
This set a record for fastest time ever to reach that mark. Jacobson also revealed that over 900,000 people played Football Manager 21 during the previous week.
"I hope you're finding some solace & company from the game world you escape into," Jacobson said.
At some point yesterday, #FM21 became our fastest ever series of games to reach 1m copies activated.
I'm guessing you're getting value for money from it, as over 900k of you played it last week!
I hope you're finding some solace & company from the game world you escape into.

Football Manager 21 is available on PC, console, and mobile devices. The franchise appeared on Xbox this year for the first time since 2007, but the game has yet to come to PS4 or PlayStation 5. According to Jacobson, Microsoft came to developer Sports Interactive to ask the studio to bring Football Manager to Xbox, but "Sony didn't."
As its name suggests, Football Manager 21 lets you become a manager of a football team and make all the key decisions to help your club succeed. The franchise is published by Sega.
The newest installment has been a hit with critics, as it boasts an impressive 85 score on Metacritic. Thousands of people have reviewed it on Steam, too, and the game has a Very Positive overall rating.
