Microsoft today announced that its upcoming role-playing game Dungeon Siege has been delayed. The company didn't specify the reason for the delay. Dungeon Siege is in development at Gas Powered Games, a studio headed by Chris Taylor, the creator of the Total Annihilation series.
"Our decision to delay the release of Dungeon Siege is one of the toughest we've had to make, but we firmly believe that this is the right choice given that one of the most critical steps in creating an RPG is the tuning and balancing stage," said Taylor. "We've made a promise to build a game that delivers an over-the-top experience, and we'll do whatever it takes to deliver on that promise."
The game, which was previously scheduled for release in November, is now scheduled for release in 2002. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
