Arkane Studios is forgoing Unreal Engine 3 to pick up CryEngine for its next game, Polygon has reported.
The information was revealed in a series of Twitter posts from a human resources manager for Arkane Studios and Battlecry Studios. Ashley Pierce posted a tweet citing employment opportunities for both developers, and stated that they were utilising CryEngine.
Developer Crytek designed CryEngine, which is used to power the Crysis series of games.
Pierce followed with an additional post calling for a tech artist to work with CryEngine. When responding to a user's question on whether Arkane Studios is using CryEngine, Pierce responded, "Here in Austin we are!"
Arkane Studios most recently worked on Dishonored, a first-person stealth game. Dishonored was developed using Unreal Engine 3 and released last year. Recent reports suggest that Arkane Studios has picked up development for upcoming game first-person shooter Prey 2.
