DayZ Experimental Update 1.08 Changes Base Destruction, Fireplaces And More-July 2024
A new DayZ PC experimental update has gone live with a variety of new builds for players to test out and give feedback on. In a blog post developer Bohemia Interactive outlined the big changes coming to these modes in update 1.08, with changes to base destruction, fireplaces, and more.
The biggest change in the update is base destruction and raiding, with fences and watchtowers now getting destroyed by standard attacks from all weapon types instead of by specific actions. Tents are now destructible, eventually flattening and dropping stored items, with other storage items, like barrels and crates, also being destructible.

Another change is that fireplaces are now capable of taking both cooking hardware and individual food items, meaning that cooking no longer requires players to have cookware. In addition to that, ignition conditions have been added, restricting fireplace usage to more realistic conditions, like weather and indoor spaces.
Other changes include reworking weapon sway, vehicle spawns, adding the ability to pull dead bodies from cars and more. The experimental servers are accessible through the DayZ Experimental launcher on Steam.
