Codemasters rallies two racers for PSP-May 2024
May 5, 2025 12:41 PM

Mobile gaming is about to get a little racier. Codemasters today announced that two of its racing titles, Colin McRae Rally 2005 and TOCA Race Driver 2: The Ultimate Racing Simulator, will be coming to the PSP. The two franchises have enjoyed a long tenure on Sony's PlayStation and PlayStation 2, and both will make their debuts on the PSP in spring of 2005.

Colin McRae Rally 2005 will feature more than 30 rally cars and several rally racing modes, in addition to including wireless multiplayer support and real-world physics. To suit the mobile lifestyle, the game can be saved at any time, so there's no need to search out a save point.

Colin McRae Rally 2005 for the PSP is being developed by Six by Nine, a company that also developed the rally series for the PC. This isn't the first time Colin McRae has cut the cord on consoles, since the franchise landed on Nokia's N-Gage earlier this month and is coming very soon to mobile phones.

TOCA Race Driver 2 stuffs 15 styles of motorsports into one game, including street racing, super truck racing, and GT racing. The game will feature realistic damage, wireless multiplayer support for eight players, and the ability to show 21 cars racing simultaneously on one track. TOCA Race Driver 2 is being developed by Outrun 2 developer Sumo Digital.
