Captain America actor Chris Evans has called for the iconic superhero to appear in 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming. MTV asked Evans what Marvel film he would like to see Captain America appear in next, and he started off by saying Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
However, he tempered his comments, saying, "It's very outer space-y. Cap's more of an Earth-bound guy."
He then said the new Spider-Man movies might be a better fit.
“Maybe the next Spider-Man [films]," he said (via EW.com). "Those are going to be fantastic, and I think [Spider-Man actor Tom Holland's] just a great actor, so that might be a fun one to pop up into."
Evans and Holland appeared together as their superhero characters most recently in Captain America: Civil War.
Also in the interview, Evans talked about how now, after playing Captain America in a number of films, he feels very comfortable in that role. As such, he said he's open to the idea of appearing in any Marvel Cinematic Universe film where it makes sense.
"It feels like home," Evans said about playing Captain America. "Any way they want to use me in any other type of cameo--it's fun to be a part of this chapter of cinema.
"Marvel is really doing something that no one else is doing--this kind of crossing over of characters from different films. If they want to utilize that in any capacity, I'm willing."
