Halo-maker Bungie has gotten into the podcast game, releasing its debut episode over the weekend. The program is being hosted by Frank "Frankie" O'Connor and Brian "Sketch" Jarrard, two of Bungie's main community managers.
Several topics are discussed, including a large chunk devoted to the audio in Halo 3. The two interview a few members of the audio team and preview some of the first sound bites that may be featured in the game.
There is also a lot of talk about Halo 2 for Vista, which Frankie describes as looking "smooth" and "alien" at first because of its performance on PCs. There will be Halo 2 achievements as part of the Live Anywhere program, but they will be available only to PC users. Although it was already a given, the two confirm that Xbox 360 Halo 3 achievements are already in the works.
Halo 2 for Vista will be on display and playable at this week's X06, which begins on Wednesday. Speaking of X06, Sketch says, "It's safe to assume that something cool will come out of that X06 show," and he promises that the next podcast will be "juicy."
There are also interviews with matchmaking playlist guru "Ninja on Fire" and audio lead Jay Weinland, who provides listeners with a "Halo 3 Mystery Sound."
The podcast is 50MB and runs just slightly under an hour. Bungie has not announced how often it plans to release its podcasts.
