Bethesda has reasserted that Nintendo's Wii U is not a part of the company's plans, saying that it is "not on our radar."
The Skyrim developer said last month that it was not developing any titles for Nintendo's latest home console, but in an interview with Joystiq has now said the choice to omit the platform was mainly because of the hardware.
"It's largely a hardware thing," said Bethesda marketing VP Pete Hines in an interview with Joystiq. Hines says Bethesda likes to "make the games that we want to make, on whatever platforms will support them as developed."
To illustrate his point, Hines added that The Elder Scrolls Online "likely would have" been released on the Xbox 360 but that it wasn't possible due to the hardware.
Bethesda says it will not rule out supporting the Wii U in the future, however. "It remains to be seen what the future holds," said Hines.
Bethesda's current lineup of games includes Wolfenstein: The New Order, Shinji Mikami-led survival horror The Evil Within, and MMO The Elder Scrolls Online.
