Baldur's Gate 3 has many puzzles that you might encounter during your travels. One of these is in the Gauntlet of Shar. While not a trial in and of itself, it does lead to a unique reward. Try to reposition your squad so you can plan your moves accordingly.
You can then lockpick the large gate and check the plinth in the center. It asks: "What can kill the Nightsong?" The answer is in that book, so place the item in the device to open the door.
Obtain the Teachings of Loss: The Nightsinger book, and place it on the plinth.
Dark Justiciar Helmet - +1 bonus to saving throws against spells; +1 constitution saving throws; while obscured, the number to roll a critical hit is reduced by 1.Spear of Night - 3-10 damage; +1 weapon enchantment; allows you to kill Nightsong.The Nightsong plays a pivotal role not just in the upcoming battle, but also Shadowheart's story arc.
The Baldur's Gate 3 Spear of Night isn't amazing in combat. But, it's also one of the most important items in the game. It has a pivotal role in the coming encounter against the Nightsong. Before you go into the depths, make sure that you've done everything you can in the Shadow-Cursed Lands, as the area below is a point of no return for Act 2.
