May 2, 2025 6:26 PM

SYDNEY--With the PlayStation 3 not due in Australia until March 2007, Microsoft Australia has one less next-gen competitor to worry about. The company is taking full advantage of the opening, announcing today two new retail bundles available for Aussie consumers.

The first, dubbed the Xbox 360 Massive Entertainment Pack, will retail for AU$769.95 ($591.90). It includes a 360 console outfitted with a 20GB hard drive, two wireless controllers, Project Gotham Racing 3, and Dead or Alive 4. The second bundle, the Xbox 360 Family Fun Pack, will set buyers back AU$499.95 ($384.36). This pack includes an Xbox 360 (without a hard drive), one controller, and Kameo: Elements of Power. Xbox 360s currently retail for AU$649.95 ($499.68) for the 20GB hard drive-equipped model and AU$499.95 ($384.36) for the Xbox 360 Core System.

Since its March 2006 launch in Australia, the Xbox 360 has sold more than 100,000 units, making it the fastest-selling home console in the country's history.
