Battle out of Hell emerges from the depths
Battle out of Hell emerges from the depths-May 2024
May 2, 2025 6:51 AM

Hades got a little hotter today with DreamCatcher announcing that Painkiller: Battle out of Hell has shipped to stores. The expansion pack to the PC shooter Painkiller continues where the previous title left off, following protagonist Daniel Garner as he clashes with Satan's minions.

Painkiller: Battle out of Hell features 10 new levels within an all-new chapter in the game's single-player campaign. Among the maps Garner must negotiate are: a twisted amusement park, an abandoned orphanage, and a re-creation of the Battle of Leningrad, complete with zombie Nazis.

Battle out of Hell also has two new multiplayer modes, four new weapons, and new enemies. It also sports the software development kit, allowing budding Satanists to craft their own personal circle of hell (like multiplayer maps).

Battle out of Hell requires the original Painkiller to run. The expansion is rated "M" for Mature and is available for $19.99. For more, read GameSpot's reviews of the original Painkiller and the expansion pack.
