Popular Mechanics has published its "The 10 Breakthrough Products of 2013" list, naming the Xbox One as one of the "most innovative and transformative" products of the year.

　　"Some products are evolutionary, others are revolutionary. The Xbox One is both," the magazine wrote about the Xbox One.

　　Popular Mechanics said the Xbox One's most notable improvement is its Kinect camera, which can see in total darkness, understand two people speaking simultaneously, and track up to six people at once.

　　"Gamers may have taken issue with the Xbox One's price ($500) and paywall restrictions (some features require a $50 per year subscription), but technologically it's a huge upgrade from its predecessor," the magazine said. "The platform is so advanced that developers have barely begun to grasp all its possibilities."

　　Other products named to the list include the crowdfunded Pebble Watch, Cub Cadet RZT-S Zero Mower, Seiki 50-Inch 4K TV, and BMW i3 electric car. No other gaming devices were included in the publication's list of breakthrough products.

　　The Xbox One launches on November 22 for $500.

　　Separately, Popular Mechanics named 21-year-old Oculus VR founder Palmer Luckey to its list of "10 Innovators Who Changed The World In 2013." Palmer Luckey is obsessive about virtual reality. No other game industry professionals were included on that list.
