WWE's Tyler Breeze has had a long-lasting and memorable career at the wrestling promotion to date. In 2015, he had a classic match against the legendary Jushin "Thunder" Liger at NXT: Takeover Brooklyn. While teaming with Fandango to form Breezango, the duo made waves with the backstage segment "Fashion Files," which spoofed Stranger Things and Twin Peaks. Now, back in NXT, Breezango is still entertaining audiences with their job-inspired entrances, along with putting on stellar matches.
In late August, Breezango beat Imperium members Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner for the NXT Tag Championships, marking the first WWE championship for either wrestler. "I think just in general 2020's crazy," Breeze told GameSpot. "It's one of those things if you kind of step back and look at it, I'm like, 'Man, I've been wrestling for like 14 years and like Dango's been wrestling like 20 years' and like we've been in WWE. So the fact that we finally got to where every tag team wants to get to is pretty nuts to me. Me and Dango have been a tag team for five years. It's one of those things that there's been times along the way when we're like the 'almost guys.' We almost got there. You're so close that you can taste it and then it just kind of goes a different direction. And that's just how it happens. And the key is you have to just keep going. And you know, I mean, my nana is used to say 'good things come to those who wait.' And so good things have happened.

Now Playing: WWE's Breezango Battles GameSpot's Created Wrestler In WWE 2K18
Now, the newly-crowned tag team champions have their first roadblock, a rematch against Barthel and Aichner on the Wednesday, September 16 episode of NXT on the USA Network. "Imperium is a very talented team, separately and together," Breeze explained. "Both are very big, strong guys. They're both very, very skilled in what they do. Obviously if you guys have watched everything they've done over at NXT UK and even on NXT, you don't just become tag champions by accident.
"They gave us a run for our money on a couple of occasions now. So just because we beat them once doesn't mean we can do it again. We have to be prepared, and we have to focus. And I think that's kind of what this run at NXT has done for us. We're still the same guys that you know and love, and we're going to make you laugh, and we're going to do all that stuff. But at the same time, we're kind of refocused, and I want to say more than we've ever been before.
"This is how we prove [to people that] have been fans of us for a long time. If we have to prove that there's substance to it, we have to prove that it's not just 'Oh, those guys are you know, they're cool, and they're fun and whatever.' Now you have to see that hey, by the way, we're very good at what we do. I think now's the time where the spotlight's ours we need to take it and run with it."
You can see Tyler Breeze and Fandango defend the NXT Tag Team Championship on Wednesday's NXT on the USA Network which airs at 8 / 7 CT. Additionally, make sure to listen to the September 24 episode of GameSpot's wrestling podcast Wrestle Buddies where Breeze talks about wearing an astronaut costume to the ring, the Left Right Left Right gaming team, WWE 2K Battlegrounds, and what actually happened to the Up Up Down Down championship title. While you wait, check out all the episodes of Wrestle Buddies here, which includes interviews with WWE's Adam Cole, Impact's The Good Brothers, and Ring of Honor's Dalton Castle.
