Warhammer 40K designs used in Command & Conquer
Warhammer 40K designs used in Command & Conquer-May 2024

Electronic Arts has given gamers what is in all likelihood the closest thing to a Command & Conquer-Warhammer 40,000 crossover there will ever be, as tank designs from Games Workshop's tabletop role-playing game have been spotted in the open beta of EA's free-to-play online game Command & Conquer: Tiberium Alliances.

Bro-jangle's original comparison of the Baneblade and the Bombard. Reddit posters Bro-jangles and corevirus have posted pictures underscoring the similarities between Tiberium Alliances' Grinder and Bombard tanks and the Ork Bonecruncha and Imperial Guard Baneblade. The source pictures for the Tiberium Alliances vehicles had been released as promotional wallpaper art for the game, but Tiberium Alliances' official website is only hosting wallpapers for vehicles not accused of plagiarizing designs from Games Workshop.

When asked for comment, an EA representative told GameSpot, "We are looking into this and will get back to you." As of press time, inquiries to Games Workshop and Warhammer 40,000 video game license holder THQ had not been returned. Electronic Arts is also a licensing partner of Games Workshop, but with the Warhammer fantasy license instead of its sci-fi counterpart. EA currently operates the massively multiplayer online game Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, as well as the free-to-play Facebook game Warhammer Online: Wrath of Heroes.
